Alas, poor Newham...

What's the betting that, in the next 24 hours, at least one American media outlet will report that the 2012 Olympic Stadium is to be built in Stratford-upon-Avon?

And what an irony that this Stratford is the birthplace of Gerard Manley Hopkins, who wrote "Let them be left,/O let them be left, wildness and wet;/Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet." Alas for Hackney Marshes.
